Shirley Chisholm was the first black woman in Congress, and the first black woman to run for president. She fought tirelessly to help women and people of color find a voice in American politics.
The Lioness Project is a personal illustration series of remarkable women throughout history: warriors, scientists, artists, athletes, leaders, and activists. For each lioness, I create a portrait and an overview of her life and accomplishments, featured in my blog.
