Achievement Unlocked: MFA

What can I say- the last two years have been a whirlwind, but it’s happened: I’ve successfully earned my master’s degree in illustratIMG_9024ion from my dream school, SVA.  It took me three tries to get accepted, coming back each year with a new portfolio; I was first rejected, then waitlisted, and then (sound of trumpets) accepted and granted a merit scholarship, too.  Now that it’s done, it’s such a strange feeling.  I’ve learned so much, changed so much, and made so many great friends; I wouldn’t change a thing about my experience.  It was well worth the wait.

Thank you to my infinitely patient husband, J.F. Lynch, and to my amazing thesis advisor, Marcos Chin, and to my thesis professor David Sandlin, for helping me turn this curious old Victorian doorstop of a book into a project I am truly proud of.

IMG_8881 Thank you also to everyone who came out for the thesis show!   I couldn’t believe how many people were there.  I had a wonderful time, and hope everyone else did too.

Now it’s time to look forward to the next thing.  I can’t wait.
